By Danish Roots |

A number of Danish roots- and folk bands are joining the Folk Spot Denmark showcase at this years Tønder Festival which take place in the last full weekend of August, in the little town of Tønder, near the Danish-German border.

The bands will perform at the Old Mill, the actual venue where the very first edition of the festival took place40 years ago. The audience will consist of regular festival guests, and of special invited officials from newspapers, radio stations, venues and festivals all over Europe and from Canada and the US.

This 3rd edition of Folk Spot Denmark is the result of a cooperation between ROSA/Danish Roots, Tønder Festival, DJBFA (Danish Composers and songwriters) and DAF (Danish Artist Union), and the basic idea is to make sure that Danish roots and folk bands as well as international journalists and festival organizers meet and get to know each other, bringing Danish roots and folk music to audiences all around the world.
