Danish musician visiting Celtic Colours International Festival

This years Celtic Colours International Festival at Cape Breton, Nova Scotia, Canada, October 10th – 20th, presents a large group of Nordic artists, including Danish fiddlers Harald Haugaard, Peter Uhbrand, Michael Grubæk and Jes Kroman, plus pianist Theis Langlands, accordionist Ole Mouritzen and singer Helene Blum. These great Danish musicians together form constellations like Helene Blum & Harald Haugaard Band, Fionia String Band and Uhrbrand & Mouritzen Duo, representing traditional as well as contemporary Danish roots and folk music. The festival says:

– During the course of 46 concerts and more than 200 Community Cultural Events, the award-winning festival will explore musical and cultural connections between Cape Breton and Nordic neighbours from Denmark, Norway, Sweden, Finland and Shetland; pay tribute to iconic Cape Breton performers and culture bearers; and present some of the finest Celtic and traditional musicians, singers, and dancers from around the world.

Amongst other fine musicians at the festival, you’ll find people and bands like: Arto and Antti Järvelä (SF), Väsen (S), Lizz Caroll (USA), Kimberley Fraser (CAN), Ashley MacIsaac (CAN), Nuala Cassidy (IRE), The Nordic Fiddler’s Bloc (UK/N), J.P. Comier (CAN), John Doyle (The US) and many more..
