3 Fiddlers, 3 Traditions! The awarded traditional Danish fiddler, Kristian Bugge (Habadekuk, Baltic Crossing, Lydom, Bugge & Høirup, Jensen & Bugge), will perform a number of concerts and dances on the American west coast through out March. He will be working together with the Seattle based fiddler, Ruthie Dornfeld, and fiddler, Jamie Fox, from Montana. Kristian is a master of traditional Danish music from different areas in Denmark, Ruthie Dornfeld is indeed a master of American oldtime music, but she is also playing a number of other styles. Jamie Fox is one of the most coveted and well-known young players of the Metis fiddle music, a tradition crossing ties of Celtic, French and Native American music cultures. In Portland where the trio will perform a House Concert on March 16th, the organizer write:

“Each musician will present music of their fiddling tradition, including old dance tunes, whirling walzes, happy polkas, groovy jigs, fiery reels and breathless hopsas, plus the exotic “Sønderhoning” dance tunes from the Island of Fanø, Denmark. They will also perform some groovy, warming music as a trio.”
